The new TV series, “Fear the Walking Dead,” made its debut on AMC on Sunday, and those who saw scenes from the high school used in the episode could recognize Los Angeles Wilson High.

Filming took place last spring and summer.

“If we play bad, I can say, ‘We were playing like zombies,’” football Coach Eddie Martinez said.

One scene had students sitting above the football field near a bank of lights.

“If you go up there, you get suspended,” Martinez said.

Students were happy for the school to receive publicity, though the school was named, “Paul Williams High School” for the episode.
