Tia Meza to become Mater Dei’s athletic director

Santa Ana Mater Dei announced on Tuesday that softball Coach Tia Meza will become the school’s athletic director effective July 1 and Athletic Director Phil Bellomo will be moving into a new position of Director of Facilty and Venue Management.

Meza was the Gatorade national softball player of the year at Mater Dei. She has served as Director of Admissions Marketing and Media Relations since 2012.

Bellomo will be focusing on a “future campus redevelopment project,” according to a school news release.
