Track: Pole vaulters are nearing peak form
The Southern Section track and field championships later this month should feature some top competition in the pole vault.
At the Ventura County championships, Jake David of Ventura and Luigi Colella each cleared 16 feet, 5 inches. The state leader is Carl Johansson of Orange Lutheran at 16-8.
Another 16-footer is Parker Curry of Santa Margarita.
