Mark Campbell, the softball coach at Garden Grove Pacifica High, died Monday morning after becoming ill at a travel team game Sunday, the school announced. He was 57.
Campbell was well-liked and well-respected in the Southern California softball community.
He had been coach at Pacifica since 2009. Pacifica won the Southern Section Division I championship in 2014.

As an officer, he was assigned to Patrol, Narcotics and the SWAT Team. Mark was promoted to Detective in 1996.
