Update: The Sparks won at Phoenix for the first time since 2009 when they beat the Mercury on Saturday, 99-88. The Sparks outrebounded the Mercury, 38-30, and Nneka Ogwumike and Candace Parker combined for 49 points and 18 rebounds. The Sparks begin a three-game homestand against the Shock, which ranks worst in the league in field-goal percentage (37.7%) and rebounding (27.7 a game). The Shock is led by Ivory Latta and Temeka Johnson, who are each averaging 15.3 points a game.
