Clippers talk to Lionel Hollins, plan Brian Shaw interview
The Clippers appear to be moving forward in their search for a new coach.
Memphis Grizzlies Coach Lionel Hollins had a lengthy telephone conversation with Clippers vice president of basketball operations Gary Sacks on Thursday afternoon, said an NBA executive who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
The Clippers also plan to set up a formal interview with Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw next week, possibly Monday or Tuesday, two NBA executives said Thursday afternoon.
Clippers owner Donald Sterling is said to have a fondness for Hollins.
The Clippers’ front office of Sacks and director of basketball administration Eric Miller, Sterling’s son-in-law, all like Shaw.
