Peyton outplays Eli but gets little satisfaction from Manning Bowl

Share

Peyton Manning improved to 3-0 on Sunday in games against his younger brother, Eli, but the Denver Broncos quarterback had a hard time feeling satisfied afterward. The matchup is too much of a strain for the brothers and the family.

“It’s a strange feeling,” Peyton said after the 41-23 victory at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. “It’s not like beating another team. It’s not quite as enjoyable as it would be beating somebody else.”

This time, Peyton threw for 307 yards with two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a gaudy passer rating of 107.9.

Eli, meanwhile, threw for 362 yards with four interceptions, deflating his rating to 53.3.

Best for both brothers? It’s over.

“I think both of us are glad that it’s over with,” Peyton said. “I don’t think I’ll make it to the next regular-season one.”
