UCLA receiver Shaquelle Evans drafted by Jets in fourth round
UCLA’s Shaquelle Evans became the fourth Bruins player to be selected in the 2014 NFL draft when the New York Jets chose the receiver in the fourth round.
Evans was selected 15th in the round, the 115th pick overall.
Evans, 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, caught 47 passes last season, nine for touchdowns.
Other Bruins drafted the last three days include linebacker Anthony Barr (first round, Minnesota Vikings), offensive lineman Xavier Sua-Filo (second round, Houston Texans) and defensive lineman Cassius Marsh (fourth round, Seattle Seahawks), who was chosen seven picks before Evans.
Evans played at Inglewood High and transferred to UCLA after playing his freshman season at Notre Dame.
He caught a team-best 60 passes as a junior in 2012.
