Peyton Manning has new signal call: ‘Elway, Elway’
Legendary Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway made an active reappearance on the field during the Thursday night football game against the San Diego Chargers -- in a sense.
Peyton Manning added his boss’ name as a new signal call at the line of scrimmage.
Late in the fourth quarter of a win over the Chargers, Manning could be heard calling, “Elway, Elway” at the line. Social media lit up shortly thereafter.
The record-breaking, future Hall of Famer, Manning was charmed to come to Denver by Elway, who is considered the Emperor of Colorado by fans after his storied, Super Bowl-winning career.
Manning is known for his calls at the line of scrimmage, including using “Omaha” on a regular basis.
The meaning of all these calls -- only the team knows for sure.
Still, Denver fans can’t seem to get enough of the gibberish.
