Last month, photographer Kirsten Hutton was standing on the Manhattan Beach Pier during what what she calls "just a typical weekend at the beach."

"I was drawn to how tiny and insignificant everyone on the sand looked - dwarfed by the beauty of nature," she said.

The image was taken with an iPhone 6 Plus and later edited with the application, VSCOcam.
