QUARTERBACK

Taylor Martinez, Corona Centennial, 6-1, 185, Sr.: In his first year in the Huskies’ spread offense, the transfer passed for 2,994 yards and 28 touchdowns to lead Centennial to its first state bowl victory. Committed to Nebraska.

RUNNING BACKS

Offense

Anthony Barr, Loyola, 6-4, 225, Jr.: Helped the Cubs rebound from consecutive losing seasons and reach the playoffs by rushing for 1,890 yards and 20 touchdowns. Rushed for more than 200 yards in four games.

Malcolm Jones, Oaks Christian, 6-0, 217, Jr.: Rushed for at least 100 yards in nine of 11 games despite playing sparingly in the second half. Averaged 10.1 yards a carry and totaled 1,504 yards even though he sat out three games because of injuries.

WIDE RECEIVER

Preston King, Tesoro, 5-10, 175, Sr.: Undersized standout could become a gutty little Trojan after being offered a preferred walk-on spot at USC. Made nine interceptions and caught 83 passes for 1,208 yards and 12 touchdowns.

James Flynn, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 5-11, 170, Sr.: Quarterback Ryan Kasdorf’s top target, Flynn caught 48 passes for 1,112 yards and 19 touchdowns.

TIGHT END

Morrell Presley, Carson, 6-3, 207, Sr.: Possessing an enviable combination of size and speed, Presley caught 42 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns. Has started classes at UCLA after earlier committing to USC.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Josh Cabral, Tesoro, 6-4, 305, Sr.: Cabral was the enforcer and key member of perhaps the best offensive line in Southern California.

Ben Gottschalk, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 6-4, 260, Jr.: The Serra League lineman of the year was effective with his run and pass blocking.

Zachary Burge, Servite, 6-5, 265, Sr.: Selected the top blocker from the powerful Trinity League, he helped the Friars earn a share of the league championship.

Michael Philipp, Arroyo Valley, 6-3, 320, Sr.: Philipp was a dominant run blocker at guard and emerged as one of the most sought-after line prospects in the Southland.

Erik Kohler, Oaks Christian, 6-5, 275, Jr.: With surprising agility and superior strength, Kohler established himself as a top college prospect for 2010.

KICKER

Parker Flynn, Orange Lutheran, 5-11, 160, Jr.: Made six of nine field-goal attempts, including a game-winning 43-yarder to defeat Mater Dei. Close to 70% of his kickoffs were touchbacks.

Defense

DEFENSIVE LINE

Iuta Tepa, Long Beach Poly, 6-2, 220, Sr.: The best player on a defense that posted two shutouts and gave up an average of 10 points a game, Tepa had 19 tackles for losses and 10 blocked passes.

Eli Edwards, Long Beach Poly, 6-2, 200, Sr.: Tenacious pass rusher had 48 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and 15 tackles for losses.

Willie Sutton, Corona Centennial, 6-1, 265, Sr.: Developed a knack for the big play while racking up 101 tackles, 11 1/2 sacks, four blocked punts and one fumble recovery. Had four sacks in the Inland Division title game.

James Boyd, Los Angeles Jordan, 6-5, 230, Sr.: City Section player of the year had 104 tackles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries at defensive end. He also passed for 4,266 yards and 44 touchdowns. Has committed to USC.

LINEBACKER

Vontaze Burfict, Corona Centennial, 6-2, 235, Sr.: Made team-high 159 tackles to go with two sacks and two interceptions to help Huskies finish undefeated. Committed to USC.

George Daily-Lyles, Long Beach Poly, 5-11, 225, Sr.: Made some of the biggest stops while finishing with a team-high 141 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks, 27 1/2 tackles for losses and 10 blocked passes. Committed to Hawaii.

Dylan Davis, St. Bonaventure, 6-0, 225, Jr.: One of the primary reasons the Seraphs gave up only 10.6 points per game, he recorded a sack and two tackles on fourth-down plays to help close out a playoff victory over Saugus.

DEFENSIVE BACK

Stanjarivus McKay, Long Beach Poly, 6-2, 205, Sr.: Made 55 tackles and intercepted seven passes, including a key fourth-quarter pick during the Jackrabbits’ 20-10 victory over Lakewood in a Pac-5 Division semifinal.

Byron Moore Jr., Narbonne, 6-1, 205, Sr.: Made 83 tackles and had three interceptions and one fumble recovery. Also returned two punts for touchdowns and caught 53 passes for 936 yards and eight touchdowns.

Patrick Hall, St. Bonaventure, 6-1, 185, Sr.: Key to his team as a lockdown defender and as a running back who rushed for 784 yards and 11 touchdowns. Has committed to USC.

Robert Woods, Serra, 6-1, 180, Jr.: Three-way standout made seven interceptions, caught 81 passes for 1,378 yards and returned five kicks for touchdowns -- three kickoffs and two punts.

PUNTER

Matt Goudis, Chaminade, 6-0, 160, So.: Goudis was an exceptional two-way performer, averaging 41 yards a punt and making seven of 10 field-goal attempts, with a long of 47 yards.
