Danica Patrick is divorcing her husband of seven years, the NASCAR driver announced Tuesday morning on Facebook.

Patrick, 30, met physical therapist Paul Hospenthal, 47, while he was treating her for a nonracing injury. They have been married since 2005.

“I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage,” she wrote. “This isn’t easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that’s how we will remain moving forward.”

Oddly enough, more than 1,400 people have “liked” the post, presumably either eager potential suitors or folks who appreciate the positive spin she put on the situation.

Patrick, who just completed her first full NASCAR season, became the highest finishing female driver in the history of the sport’s three national series by finishing 10th in Nationwide points.

The popular driver who made her name in the IndyCar circuit also took part in 10 Sprint Cup Series races this season.
