Share

An 18-foot jump shot by guard Bill Edwards with six seconds left helped Troy High School upset Fullerton, 53-51, at Fullerton in Freeway League play.

The Indians led throughout most of the first half and left at halftime with a 31-26 lead. In the second half, the game was very close, and the Warriors outscored the Indians in both the third and fourth quarters. But the five-point lead Fullerton had built in the first half proved the winning edge.

Fullerton and Troy are both 1-1 in league. Guard Greg Nelson and forward Kent Markley led the Warriors with 12 points each. Fullerton’s Richard Carnesi led all scorers with 13.
