Forward Rich Stamps scored 11 of his 15 points in the final quarter Friday night to lead Estancia High School to a 59-42 win over Costa Mesa in a Sea View League game at Costa Mesa.

The victory improved the fourth-ranked Eagles’ league record to 6-1 and overall record to 18-2. Costa Mesa is 2-5 and 7-10.

Estancia led by seven points, 46-39, with 2:30 to play but then went on to outscore Costa Mesa by 10 points the rest of the way to win by 17. Two factors in the game were Costa Mesa’s poor field goal shooting and and its inability to draw fouls. The Mustangs were only 19 of 52 from the floor and were outscored by Estancia at the free throw line, 26-4.
