Clairemont High Jumps to Fourth in Latest Prep Baseball Rankings

Share

A few runs made a big difference for the Clairemont High School baseball team, which rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to beat Mission Bay, 3-2, and take over first place in the City Western League.

That victory, combined with another win later last week over Kearny, has vaulted the Chiefs all the way into the No. 4 spot in this week’s Times Top 10. Clairemont had not been ranked in the Top 10 prior to this week.

Elsewhere last week, Grossmont League powers Valhalla and Santana were upset. The Norsemen lost a pair of games to fall to No. 7 and the Sultans were beaten by Mount Miguel and slipped to 10th.
