Nonleague Roundup : Fullerton Beats Rancho Alamitos, 35-6

Fullerton High School scored three second-half touchdowns Friday night en route to a 35-6 nonleague win over Rancho Alamitos in Bolsa Grande Stadium.

The victory kept the Indians (4-0), the defending CIF Southern Section Central Conference champions, undefeated.

Fullerton quarterback Victor Williams accounted for three of the Indians’ touchdowns. He scored on a one-yard run, and threw for two others. He hit Wesley Dodds on a 13-yard pass play in the second period and threw to Steve Pearson on a four-yard scoring pass-play.

The Vaqueros’ only score came on a 12-yard pass play in the second quarter from quarterback Don Wagner to Ron Flores. In other nonleague action:

Santiago 22, Norwalk 3--The Cavaliers, off to their best start since 1978, made it four wins without a loss by beating the Lancers (1-2-1).

Santiago was led by quarterback Rick Burns, who completed 12 of 18 passes for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hao Dinh rushed 11 times for 45 yards and 1 touchdown.

LB Wilson 23, Huntington Beach 8--The Oilers (2-2) were shut out for three quarters en route to the loss at in Long Beach. Quarterback Joe Napoli threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Nick Davenport for Huntington Beach’s only score.

Brea-Olinda 14, Dana Hills 3--The Wildcats broke a 0-0 halftime deadlock with two touchdowns in the second half to pull away from the Dolphins at Dana Hills. Jay Hollis kicked a 35-yard field goal for Dana Hill’s only score. Both teams are 2-2.

Savanna 7, Buena Park 6--Tony Osendorf scored on a four-yard touchdown run, the Rebels converted the extra point to win this game on Spaulding Field. Buena Park scored first on a 15-yard pass play from quarterback Scott Milligan to wide receiver Orlando Robbins. However the extra point was no good, eventually making possible the Savanna comeback.

Magnolia 24, Mayfair 0--The Sentinels scored 17 second quarter points to easily defeat Mayfair at Glover Stadium. After a run and a field goal had made the score 10-0, James Hargis ran over from one yard out to make the halftime score 17-0.
