St. Genevieve, Bell-Jeff Open Sante Fe League Play

St. Genevieve High (3-2) and Bellarmine-Jefferson (2-2-1) clash at 7:30 p.m. in the Sante Fe League opener for both teams at Burroughs High.

Jeff De La Cruz gained 126 yards on 20 carries in a 20-6 St. Genevieve win over Harvard, bouncing back from a shoulder injury that had kept him out two games. Bell-Jeff dropped a 21-13 decision to unbeaten Riverside Notre Dame last week, despite an impressive passing performance by quarterback Keith Fitzgerald, who completed 18 of 42 passes for 288 yards.

In another Sante Fe League game, Chaminade (3-1-1) visits Murphy (0-4) at 1:30 p.m. at Hollywood High. Chaminade grounded previously unbeaten Calabasas last week, 31-6, behind the running of Jang Kim (140 yards) and Tim Lavin (101 yards and 3 touchdowns).

Montclair Prep (3-2, 2-0) visits Village Christian (2-2, 1-0) and L.A. Baptist (1-4, 1-1) travels to LaVerne Lutheran in Alpha League play. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.
