Montclair Prep, Down 27-0 Early, Loses by 40 Points

In a contest pitting a larger 4-A City team against a smaller Southern Section squad, big won out as San Fernando High defeated Montclair Prep, 47-7, Saturday night at College of the Canyons.

The Tigers (4-2-0 overall) scored on their first three possessions, building a 27-0 lead after the first quarter.

San Fernando quarterback Dwayne Calloway scored on the opening play of the game, a 70-yard run, then hit tailback Lance Harper on passes of 42 and 17 yards. The Tigers took a 33-0 lead into halftime. Calloway later scored on a 17-yard dash with 7:25 left in the third quarter to put the Tigers up, 40-0.

San Fernando went ahead, 27-0, in the nonleague game when strong safety Ronald MacMillan raced 60 yards after intercepting a pass.
