L. A. Baptist Ties Marshall Fundamental

L. A. Baptist and Marshall Fundamental played to a 1-1 tie in Alpha League boy’s soccer Tuesday.

The game was scoreless at halftime, but the Knights went ahead on a goal by Chris Bollier 10 minutes into the second half. Marshall Fundamental’s Kayvan Fathi scored a goal with five minutes left to tie it up.

L. A. Baptist is 1-0-1 in league and 5-3-2 overall. Marshall Fundamental is 0-0-2 in league and 4-4-4 overall.

Westlake won its first Marmonte League match of the season, 3-1, over Channel Islands. Eric Wynalda scored two goals in the first half and assisted Miguel Saenz on a second-half score.

Westlake is 6-2-2 overall.

The Chaminade girls soccer team won its opening league game, 5-0, over Marymount.

Erica Vote scored three goals, while Amy Miller and Cindy Elliot scored one goal each. Chaminade is 2-3-1 overall.
