City East Still Dominates Rankings

SAN DIEGO — Although two teams from the North County--No. 1 Poway and No. 2 El Capitan--continue to top the list, the City Eastern League continues to otherwise dominate The Times’ Top 10.
For the second week in a row, five City East teams are listed among the top 10--No. 3 Morse (8-3), No. 4 Serra (11-1), No. 5 Mira Mesa (9-4), No. 6 Patrick Henry (7-3) and No. 8 Madison (9-3). Point Loma, the only unranked team from the City East, is 8-6 and is among the Best of the Rest.
Castle Park (13-1), which has the county’s best record, made its first appearance in The Times’ Top 10 this week at No. 7. The Trojans won a pair of games last week, including a victory over previously ranked Sweetwater (9-6).
Mount Carmel (9-5) also won two games last week and is a newcomer to the Top 10 at No. 10.
