Nakajima’s Last Round Too Much for Tze-min
Tsuneyuki Nakajima shot a final-round 70 and won the $294,000 Mitsubishi Galant Golf Tournament with a 280 Sunday, one shot ahead of Taiwan’s Chen Tze-min.
In the third round, which was also played Sunday because rain cancelled Friday’s round, Nakajima shot a 69.
Nakajima started the final round two shots behind Seiichi Kanai, but posted a triple-bogey on the first hole. He fought back from the sixth hole with six birdies over the 7,190-yard, par-72 Oharai Golf Club.
Nakajima earned $59,000 for his second win this season and 32nd career victory. Tze-min posted a 66 for a 281 total, and pocketed $32,940.
Australian Terry Gale, who shot a final-round 72, was alone in third.
