PITCHERS MICHELE GRANGER The left-hander pitched two perfect games, including one in which she struck out Valencia sophomore all 21 batters. She had eight no-hitters, four one-hitters and a 0.22 ERA. PATTI TAYLOR The right-hander was 19-4 with an 0.18 ERA. Had 17 shutouts and 164 Fountain Valley senior strikeouts, allowing only one earned run in Sunset League play. NICKY LUCE The right-hander was the Empire League MVP with a 22-5 record and .322 Cypress junior batting average. She threw 15 shutouts, one perfect game and struck out 269. JOYCE LYMAN The left-hander was 14-3 with a 0.26 ERA, 128 strikeouts and five one-hitters Edison senior for the Chargers, the Sunset League’s second-place finishers. CATCHER KRIS GLOMBOSKE She hit .418 with eight doubles and maintained a near-perfect .980 fielding El Dorado senior percentage. She committed just two errors in 26 games. INFIELDERS MARTHA NOFFSINGER The Sunset League’s Most Valuable Defensive Player played superbly at Edison senior shortstop and stole 12 bases. JENNY ALLARD The Sea View League Most Valuable Player hit .375 and drove in 26 runs. She Woodbridge senior has accepted a scholarship to Michigan. SHELLY MONTGOMERY A left-handed first baseman who plans to play softball at UCLA, she hit .411 El Modena senior with two homers and 13 RBIs. LORI PETERSON A second baseman, she hit .333 in league and broke the school record with eight Fountain Valley senior stolen bases in eight tries. OUTFIELDERS TIFFANY BOYD She hit .378 with two homers, and was third in the county with 28 runs scored. Woodbridge sophomore Boyd stole nine bases. CARRIE HESS She has accepted a scholarship to Cal State Fullerton after hitting .397 with two Loara senior homers. She stole 22 bases. KATHY BERDIS She hit .301 with one homer and in four years committed just three errors. Berdis Kennedy senior has accepted a scholarship at the University of South Carolina. UTILITY SANDRA SCHOONOVER She hit .377, stole 10 bases and scored 27 runs and was 4-1 as a pitcher. In the Woodbridge senior playoffs, she hit .417 as Woodbridge advanced to the title game. DESIGNATED HITTER LISA PEDERSEN She compiled the third-best batting average in the county at .429. She had six Cypress senior doubles and two triples and an on-base percentage of .549.
