The Nevada Athletic Commission declined a request by former heavyweight champion Larry Holmes to poll members individually on the outcome of Holmes’ title bout with Michael Spinks April 19.

Holmes contended after the bout that he had won his rematch with Spinks. But the commissioners said state statutes prevented them from interfering with the split-decision victory given Spinks by the ringside judges. Holmes indicated that he would pursue the matter at a hearing next week before the International Boxing Federation.
