BIG GAMES OF THE WEEK
Thousand Oaks at Canyon: If running backs Marc Monestime and Mike Moore have big games the Lancers have a legitimate chance to end Canyon’s winning streak at 40. Canyon running back Lance Cross did not play last week against La Canada because of a bruised back. If he is still out, pressure will be on quarterback Ken Sollom to have a great passing performance for the third straight week. Canyon has scored 42 points in each of its first two games.
Canoga Park at Cleveland: Canoga Park managed only seven points against lowly El Camino Real but won behind good defense, which will be tested by Albert Fann, who ran for 243 yards in last week’s 18-7 win over Chatsworth.
Chatsworth at Granada Hills: Chatsworth’s Bryan Addison and Granada Hills’ Jeremy Leach make this a showcase of talented junior quarterbacks, but Granada Hills has more weapons to complement Leach.
Agoura at Simi Valley: After looking dreadful against Newbury Park, Agoura showed some offensive punch in beating Royal last week, 24-21. Simi Valley quarterback Todd Studer may have elevated the Pioneers to league championship level.
