Johnson and Ross of El Toro Are Selected South Coast League Players of the Year

El Toro High School quarterback Bret Johnson, who passed for 1,934 yards and 20 touchdowns in the regular season, was named offensive player of the year in the South Coast League in a vote of the league’s football coaches.

El Toro linebacker Scott Ross, selected to the team for the second consecutive season, was named the defensive player of the year. League champion El Toro had 11 players selected to the first team and seven on the second team.
