Orange County Prep Soccer : Harkins’ 3 Goals Pace La Quinta’s 4-2 Victory

Senior Kristin Harkins scored three goals Thursday to lead La Quinta High School to a 4-2 nonleague victory over Valencia in girls’ soccer action at Placentia.

Harkins was named to the all-Southern Section first team last season.

Senior Tina Cochran scored the other goal for the Aztecs (6-1). Cameron Sweeney scored both goals for the Tigers (3-2-1).

In other nonleague games:

Dana Hills 4, Estancia 1--Tricia Shipley, Janae Deffenbaugh, Alicia Harrison and Teppi Hawkins scored for the Dolphins (6-1).

Devi Hoyt scored the Eagles’ goal.

Laguna Hills 2, San Clemente 0--Heather McIntyre and Erin McGinnis scored one goal each for the Hawks (8-0).

Goalie Pam Jizsy had 14 saves for the Tritons (4-3).

Trabuco Hills 3, Orange Lutheran 0--Tina Xiros scored two goals and Heather Vittori one for the Mustangs (1-4-1).

In the Empire League:

Kennedy 2, El Dorado 1--Kay De Monte scored both goals for the Irish in the win at El Dorado. Tara Villvececino scored for the Golden Hawks.

Pacifica 5, Katella 3--Noelle Roste scored two goals and Sheryl Koser, Devon Fitzpatrick and Kristen Grady one each for the Mariners in Garden Grove.

Amy Daily scored all three goals for the Knights who took a 1-0 lead before allowing four consecutive goals.

In boys’ nonleague games:

Rancho Alamitos 2, Magnolia 1--Jesus Flores scored the only goal for the Sentinels (1-4-3).

Huntington Beach 2, La Quinta 1--Corey Nawkurma scored both Oiler goals on penalty kicks, one in each half.

Huntington Beach is 2-4-1, La Quinta is 3-3-3.
