Orange County Prep Basketball : Orange Lines Up Win Over Canyon

Don Adams scored 16 points and Jeff Smith added 13 to lead Orange High School to a 50-45 victory over Canyon Monday in a nonleague game played at Canyon.
Adams made the majority of his points from the free-throw line, converting 10 of 13. As a team, Orange made 24 of 40 free-throw attempts.
Canyon (3-6) shot only 13 free throws, making 10. Canyon’s David Jones scored 15 points and Randy Simpson added 12.
In other nonleague games:
Brea-Olinda 77, Hacienda Heights Wilson 67--Bob Terry scored 26 points and Ron Thomas added 23 to lead the Wildcats (9-5). Forward Mike Thorum had a team-high 14 rebounds.
Rancho Alamitos 95, Glenn 55--Rancho Alamitos’ Randy Morales led all scorers with 23 points. Craig Paquette added 21 points and 13 rebounds for Rancho Alamitos (6-5).
In girls’ nonleague action:
Westminster 57, La Mirada 44--Guard Devon Akita scored 23 points to lead the Lions (8-4). Julie Johnston and Shannon Bates added 10 points each for Westminster.
