Six Southern Section wrestlers won individual championships, and Victor Valley High School took the team title Saturday night as the CIF State Meet concluded with its championship rounds before 7,000 in Selland Arena.

Victor Valley had placed three wrestlers in the finals, but only 122-pound Ray Leonard came out a champion, defeating Coachella Valley’s Armando Morales, 3-2, in overtime. Victor Valley amassed 75 points and finished well ahead of second-place Sacramento Overfelt (59 1/2).

Todd Tomazic of Placentia El Dorado successfully defended his state title at 168 pounds, defeating Workman’s Mike Ramos, 9-4, and Lynden Campbell of Santa Fe also became a two-time champion by defeating Dos Pueblos’ Bobo Leyva, 11-4, in the 129-pound final.
