San Diego High School Baseball : San Pasqual Rallies to Beat Patrick Henry, 6-5

San Pasqual High School rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat Patrick Henry, 6-5, Saturday in a semifinal game of the Goodman-Pirate baseball tournament at Oceanside High School.

Henry scored all its runs in the first inning. San Pasqual scored a run in the second and added two in the third on a double by Darren Dunn to cut Henry’s lead to 5-3.

In the top of the seventh, San Pasqual (3-1) loaded the bases with two outs. Jay Jures then hit a 3-2 pitch to left field for a double to clear the bases and put San Pasqual into the championship game against Fallbrook.

The championship game was rained out and will be played at a later date.

In other Goodman-Pirate games:

Fallbrook 15, Torrey Pines 11--Bill Dunckel went 3 for 3 with a two-run homer and four RBIs and T.J. Flynn added a double, triple and three RBIs to lead Fallbrook (3-1) in the semifinal game. Gordon Thompson led Torrey Pines (2-1-1) by going 3 for 4 with a three-run home run and six RBIs.

SPORTING GOODS WEST TOURNAMENT

Hoover 8, Bonita Vista 7--Hoover rallied to score three runs in the top of the seventh for the victory at Clairemont Colt Field. David Jocif went 2 for 4 with two triples and two RBIs to lead Bonita Vista (1-5).

Monte Vista 9, Mar Vista 5--Ed Poulson went 2 for 4, including a two-run triple, to lead Monte Vista (3-3). Monte Vista scored seven runs in the first inning. Paul Burgey pitched five innings for the win.

CRAWFORD TOURNAMENT

Serra 4, Morse 3--Ron Lardizabal hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie and give Serra (4-3) the victory at home. Mike Camp (2-1) retired all six batters he faced in relief for the win. Chris Robison had a solo home run for Serra in the fourth. Morse drops to 4-3.

Mira Mesa 3, University City 1--Mike Eicher went the distance on the mound to lead Mira Mesa (6-1). The game was called after five innings because of rain.

HILLTOP-MOOSE

TOURNAMENT

Mission Bay 13, El Capitan 0--Pitcher Scott Vonderlieth pitched four no-hit innings and had a two-run homer in the second to lead Mission Bay in the third-place game at Hilltop. Vonderlieth and Scott Kuhl combined for a one-hitter. The no-hit bid was ended by a single with two outs in the seventh. Brian Haire added a three-run home run in the fifth for Mission Bay (4-2). El Capitan drops to 4-2.
