San Diego College Baseball : Loyola Scores Twice in the Ninth to Beat USD, 9-7

Travis Tarchione’s two-run double in the ninth inning Friday snapped a 7-7 tie and gave Loyola Marymount a 9-7 victory over University of San Diego in a West Coast Athletic Conference game at San Diego.

Tarchione went 3 for 4 with five RBIs for the Lions (7-10-1, 33-19-1) .

Freshman Miah Bradbury, from Mt. Carmel High School, went 2 for 4 with a double and scored twice for Loyola.

Andy Roberts went 4 for 6 for USD (6-11-1, 29-20-1), which stranded 16. Dave Rolls went 3 for 3 with two RBIs.

UC San Diego 15, Cal Baptist 5--Glen Turnipseed hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to lead host UCSD (25-11), ranked 14th in Division III, to its eighth straight victory. Turnipseed went 2 for 4 with four RBIs. Brian Rude went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, including his 10th homer, a two-run shot in the first inning, for UCSD. Cal Baptist is 16-22.
