Chen’s Birdie Putt Wins Playoff in Japan

AJISUCHO, Japan —
Chen Tze-ming of Taiwan rolled in a four-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff, beating Japan’s Hiroshi Makino for the title in the $322,000 Pepsi Ube golf tournament.
Chen earned $58,000 for his fifth victory in Japan.
