May Favored to Repeat as Section Golf Titlist
Bob May of Los Altos, low scorer at one-under-par 71 in the Southern Section team championships last week at Industry Hills, is the favorite to repeat as individual champion today at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
Westlake, which has won the team championship the past two years, sends five golfers against May--including junior Chris Zambri, the Marmonte league champion.
Michele Lyford of Redlands is one of the favorites in the girls’ division.
The top 25 individuals, including ties, advance to the CIF-Southern California Golf Assn. Championships June 8 at North Ranch.
