Santa Monica Crossroads High will try to win its second title in three years when it plays Tehachapi tonight at 7:30 in the Southern Section Small Schools (Large Division) baseball championship game at Blair Field in Long Beach.

The Roadrunners, seeded No. 2, have a 21-6 record. They won the title in 1985, when they outscored opponents in five playoff games, 108-12. This year’s team is not quite as dominating. It rallied from a 7-3 deficit to defeat Serrano of Phelan in the semifinals, 8-7.

Tehachapi (21-3) advanced to the final with a 10-4 rout of No. 1-seeded Van Nuys Montclair Prep.

Palos Verdes Chadwick (15-7) will play second-seeded Templeton (21-4) at 4:30 p.m. for the Small Schools (Small Division) title. The Small Schools were split into two divisions this year for baseball because there were too many schools for one division.
