Dave Scott, five-time winner of the Ironman triathlon in Hawaii, won an international triathlon in Japan. Scott, 33, swam .94 miles in 21 minutes 28 seconds, bicycled 25 miles in 58:35 and ran 6.2 miles in 36:25 for a total time of 1:56:28.
The race, part of the Japan Triathlon series, was held in and around the Nagara River in central Japan. A field of 505 competed and 462 finished.
