UCSD Tops La Verne in Volleyball

Janet Hughes and Dee Dee Bigelow each had 7 kills to lead UC San Diego, ranked No. 1 in Division III, to a 15-8, 15-7, 15-6 nonconference women’s volleyball victory over La Verne Saturday.

UCSD (22-3) has won 23 straight matches against NCAA Division III opponents. La Verne is 7-12.

Santa Clara 3, University of San Diego 0--Santa Clara (7-13, 5-2) defeated USD, 15-11, 15-2, 17-15, at the USD Sports Center in a West Coast Athletic Conference match. UCSD is 3-13, 1-4.
