Downey 18, St. Genevieve 16--Downey ended St. Genevieve’s three-game winning streak and broke the Valiants’ string of three consecutive shutouts with the nonleague victory at Pierce College.

The Valiants pulled to 18-16 with 6:13 left when Frank Aguirre connected with Marc Colon on a three-yard touchdown pass to complete an eight-play, 87-yard drive. After holding Downey on three downs, St. Genevieve got the ball back at its own 41 but could drive only 20 yards before Aguirre was sacked on a fourth-and-seven play.
