Notre Dame scored on a 41-yard flea-flicker pass from running back Matt McElreath to Mike Rimkunas, giving the Knights a 35-20 lead with 3:42 left in the third quarter. Four plays earlier, Rimkunas recovered a fumble at the Notre Dame 31-yard line and returned it 13 yards. . . .
