SAN DIEGO HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFFS : Water Polo : Mitchell Leads Coronado to Win, Meets Defending Titlist Valhalla

Goalie Drew Mitchell recorded 17 saves, had 3 assists and scored a goal to lead Coronado High School to an easy 18-8 victory over Poway in the quarterfinals of the San Diego Section water polo championships at Mesa Community College Saturday.
Evan Galdo added 5 goals and Alex Fraley added 3 goals and 3 assists for Coronado, the top seed in the tournament.
Coronado advances to play two-time defending section champion Valhalla in the semifinals Wednesday at University City High School. Valhalla defeated Grossmont League rival Mount Miguel 12-11 to reach the semis.
Also advancing were Fallbrook, which defeated Helix 13-10 and the University of San Diego High School, which beat Monte Vista 20-9.
