Marina’s Guild to Attend Pepperdine

Steve Guild, a 6-foot 6-inch forward at Marina High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Pepperdine University in the fall.

Guild is a four-year starter who averaged 16.3 points and 10.1 rebounds and shot 54% from the field as a junior, leading the Vikings to a 22-5 record and the Sunset League title.

Guild has maintained a 3.2 grade-point average at Marina. He visited the University of San Diego, University of Portland, Cal State Long Beach and Pepperdine before he signed with the Waves.

Steve Popovich, Marina coach, said he plans to move Guild from forward to the wing and point-guard positions this season.
