Oden Named MVP of South Coast League

Irvine High School’s Bev Oden, who helped the Vaqueros to the Southern Section 4-A championship, was named the South Coast League most valuable player for girls’ volleyball by a vote of the league’s coaches.

Oden, a 6-foot 1-inch junior outside hitter, has been on the varsity since she was a freshman. She is joined on the all-league team by teammates Melinda Norton and Cari Delson, who was the league’s MVP last season.
