Girls’ Basketball : Davis’ 20 Spark Alemany Past Notre Dame in League Opener
Alemany High opened San Fernando Valley League play with a convincing 63-22 win over visiting Notre Dame on Saturday night. The Indians (11-3), with scoring from nine players, built a 45-15 lead after three quarters.
Alemany’s Nikki Davis, who was bumped from the starting lineup earlier this season for playing poor defense, came off the bench to score a game-high 20 points.
Davis made 10 of 16 field-goal attempts.
“And she played defense tonight,” Alemany Coach Melissa Melton said.
Andrea Banducci led Notre Dame (5-6) with 17 points.
Holy Martyrs 62, Yula 35--Ayline Amirayan scored 24 points for Holy Martyrs in a nonleague game.
