Newbury Park 61, Upland 40--Chris Singer scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Camille Mitchell added 17 points for host Newbury Park in the 4-A game.

Kristi Gellenbeck added 10 points and Marlo Cormier added 5 assists for the Panthers (18-5).

Newbury Park limited Kim Gessig, who came into the game averaging 23 points, to a team-high 15.

“This was probably the best defensive game we’ve played all year,” Newbury Park Coach Nori Parvin said. “Playing at home was a big advantage.”

Louisville 52, Burroughs (R) 50--Nancy Robinson’s basket put Louisville ahead, 51-47, with 45 seconds remaining and Becky Long made a free throw in the final second of the 3-A game at Burroughs of Ridgecrest.

Long led Louisville (13-12) with 15 points and 6 assists. Kristin Carpenter added 11 points.

Burroughs (20-4) was the No. 4-seeded team in the 3-A Division and co-champion in the Golden League.
