Cal State May Lose Center for Playoffs

Share

Cal State Northridge, which needs a victory over Chapman on Thursday to gain a berth in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.’s post-season basketball tournament, may have to play without starting center Todd Bowser.

Bowser, who averages 14.3 points and 7.8 rebounds a game, sustained a torn muscle in the arch of his right foot Saturday in the first half of Northridge’s 67-58 loss to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

He played sparingly the second half and finished with 10 points and a season-low four rebounds. Bowser, a 6-8, 270-pound sophomore, was on crutches Monday.
