College Baseball : Fullerton Breezes Past Long Beach
Mark Razook drove in five runs to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 13-2 victory over Cal State Long Beach Sunday in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. baseball game at Long Beach.
Razook had a two-run double in the second inning, as Fullerton scored three times to take a 4-0 lead. Rex Peters hit a home run in the first for a 1-0 lead.
Fullerton (28-10, 7-2) scored four more times on just one hit in the third.
Freshman Paul Johnson went six innings, allowing two runs, for the victory. Johnson (4-3) struck out six and walked none.
Chad Holmes (3-8) was the loser, giving up nine runs in four innings.
Larry Smith went 2 for 3, including a solo home run, for Long Beach (11-33, 1-8).
In other PCAA action:
UC Santa Barbara 5, UC Irvine 1--Brian Raum scattered nine hits, as Santa Barbara (18-28,2-7) salvaged the final game of a three-game series at Irvine.
Raum (4-0) struck out one and walked two. Jeff Oberdank went 2 for 4 for Irvine (23-20-1, 3-6). On Saturday night, Mike Goodcase singled home two runs with two outs in the bottom 13th, as Irvine defeated Santa Barbara, 7-6.
