Burroughs 50, Alhambra 6--Quarterback Marco Arcipreste completed 14 of 19 for 230 yards and 1 touchdown to lead the Indians at Burroughs.
Burroughs (5-3, 2-1) led, 14-0, midway through the second quarter after a 10-yard run by Andre Banks and an 11-yard scoring pass from Arcipreste to Tom Phillips. Alhambra (3-5, 0-3) scored on a 1-yard run by Jesus Salazar but couldn’t take advantage of a recovered onside kick or interception in Burroughs’ next 2 possessions.
Reserve quarterback Dennis Rodriguez scored twice within 4 seconds in the fourth quarter for Burroughs on a 1-yard run and a 1-yard fumble recovery on the ensuing kickoff.
The Indians’ Kevin Monaco gained 90 yards and 2 touchdowns in 10 carries to lead all rushers.
Burroughs outscored Alhambra, 22-0, in the fourth quarter.
