High-Scoring Loyola to Play at Nevada Reno

Loyola Marymount University will attempt to reach .500 tonight in what figures to be a high-scoring nonconference basketball game against Nevada Reno at Reno.
The Lions (3-4) are averaging 112.4 points while allowing 112. Hank Gathers, who tied his career high with 39 points Wednesday night against Marist, is averaging 32.6 points and 13.6 rebounds, putting him among the nation’s leaders in both. Guard Jeff Fryer is averaging 23 points a game and Enoch Simmons 19.9. The Lions have outscored opponents from 3-point range, 75-28.
Reno (6-3), led by guards Darryl Owens (22.1) and Kevin Franklin (16.9), is averaging nearly 93 points. The Wolf Pack is 5-1 at home.
