San Pasqual 5, San Marcos 1--Kevin Herde singled home two runs in the fifth, and Mike Escarcega (5-1) earned the victory and was one for two at the plate to increase his hitting streak to 13 games for San Pasqual (10-3, 1-0). Marc Keller hit a bases-empty home run in the seventh for San Marcos (1-11, 0-1).

Escondido 7, Oceanside 4--With two out and the bases loaded in the top of the tenth, Mike Wilkins drove a full-count pitch into left field to score two runs, and Tim McCarth followed with a run-scoring single for Escondido. Robert Erp (1-0), who came on in the seventh, got the victory. Bill Precht (0-1) took the loss for Oceanside (8-6, 0-1).

Ramona 15, El Camino 0--Host Ramona (6-3, 1-0) scored 10 runs in the first three innings and coasted. Troy Wood hit a two-run homer in the first inning and finished with three RBIs, Ty Wilson was two for two with four RBIs, Chad Waite had two RBIs and Robby Petersen was one for two with two RBIs. Ramona’s Juan Tirado (3-0) limited El Camino (2-7, 0-1) to three hits.

Palomar League

Poway 6, Orange Glen 3--Brock Marsh and Matt Schwenke each homered for visiting Poway. Marsh hit a bases-empty homer in the first, and Schwenke hit a two-run homer in the seventh. Shannon Vinje hit a two-run homer in the third for Orange Glen (7-8, 0-1). Bruce Mathews was the winning pitcher. Matt Taylor (0-1) took the loss.

Vista 4, San Dieguito 3--Billy Rounsifer’s two-out bloop single in the fifth drove home the tying and winning runs for Vista. Jeff Gold (3-2) was the loser for San Dieguito (8-6-1, 0-1).

Metro Conference

Bonita Vista 5, Coronado 3--Craig Catlin (3-1) went the distance for Bonita Vista (8-8, 2-0) and was two for three at the plate.

Chula Vista 5, Montgomery 4--Derek Chapman’s single in the sixth scored the winning run for host Chula Vista (3-9, 1-0). Garrard Galvan (2-3) was the winning pitcher.

Mar Vista 5, Sweetwater 4--In the bottom of the seventh, Mario Moreno walked, went to third on an error and scored on a grounder to third to give Mar Vista the victory. The Mariners’ Mick Martinez allowed Sweetwater (5-7) just two hits in six innings, and Esteban Loaiza pitched the seventh for the victory.

Hilltop 2, Marian 1--David Chapman scored on Gus Chavarin’s RBI single in the first, and Larry Beebe scored on Rich Dare’s RBI single in the fifth to give Hilltop (4-8, 1-1) the victory. Jose Silva (2-2) allowed three hits in six innings. Chad Boyd pitched the seventh for his second save.

Orange Glen 4, Poway 3--Gina Phillips homered to open the fifth inning to give Orange Glen a 3-3 tie with visiting Poway. Stacey Williams followed with a single and scored the winning run when Jody Lyza tripled.

Nonleague

USDHS 8, San Diego 0--Vicki Vechinski pitched a perfect game and struck out 10 for visiting USDHS.
