Orange Glen 3, Torrey Pines 2--Orange Glen got a run in the first on singles by Matt Taylor, Shannon Vinje and Herman Moreno, then two in the fifth on no hits. Vinje walked, stole second and third and then home on a double steal. Jim Roby walked, stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch. Torrey Pines’ John Lynch allowed just the three first-inning hits but was the loser.

Avocado League

San Pasqual 18, El Camino 8--Kevin Herde was four for five with two RBIs to lead San Pasqual, which scored 10 runs in the ninth. Mike Escarcega (6-1) was the winner and two for three with an RBI. El Camino walked five in the ninth. San Pasqual is 11-3, 2-0.

Escondido 10, Ramona 4--Brian Frank hit a two-run home run in the third, and Mike Garcia went two for three with three RBIs to lead Escondido (10-4, 2-0). Escondido led, 9-0, before Ramona (6-4, 1-1) scored four runs in the fifth.

Carlsbad 6, Oceanside 3--Jeff Green had an RBI single in the fourth to help host Carlsbad (8-8, 2-0) remain undefeated in league. Oceanside is 8-7, 0-2.

San Marcos 16, Rancho Buena Vista 11--San Marcos rallied from a 10-5 deficit with seven runs in the sixth at Rancho Buena Vista. Gordon Sanchez was two for three with three RBIs for San Marcos (1-1 in league). Lonny Maniscalco and Jason Schmeiser hit homers for RBV (7-7, 0-2).

Metro Conference

Castle Park 1, Chula Vista 0--Benji Gil drove in the only run of the game and went one for three. Juan Beltran (5-1) picked up the victory, striking out six and allowing two hits. Castle Park is 16-2-1, 2-0.

Marian 7, Sweetwater 2--Winner Leo Ortiz went the distance, and Jeff Hays went three for three with two RBIs and scored a run.

Softball

Palomar League

Vista 5, Fallbrook 0--Pitcher Kelli Schott won her third game of the week (eighth overall) and increased her strikeouts for the week to 35 with 10 against Fallbrook.

Schott (8-1) hasn’t allowed an earned run this season.

Rene Richardson had just one hit but added a sacrifice, walked twice, scored a run and drove in two. Vista is 8-1, 2-0 in league. Fallbrook is 0-2 in league.

Orange Glen 14, Torrey Pines 0--Orange Glen’s Gina Phillips went three for three to raise her league average to .857 (six for seven). Pitcher Anne Page went two for five and scored three runs and Nikki Caster went three for five with one run. Page struck out five and walked none.
