Capistrano Valley, Millikan Head Field for Servite Summer Basketball Tournament

Capistrano Valley High School, the Southern Section 5-A champion, and Millikan, the 5-AA champion, highlight the 16-team field at the Servite summer basketball tournament, which begins today.

Capistrano Valley is led by forward Scott McCorkle and guard Chris Kostoff. McCorkle missed the Capistrano Beach tournament last weekend to attend a basketball camp, but the Cougars still defeated Irvine, 60-44, to win the championship. Kostoff had 25 points in the title game.

Millikan defeated Saddleback last March for the 5-AA championship.

First-round action begins today at 3:30 and resumes Friday at 9 a.m. The championship game is Sunday at 6 p.m.
