Culver City : Parking Garage Approved
The Culver City Council has approved the drafting of plans for a 335-space parking garage in downtown Culver City.
The six-level garage--two underground levels and four stories above ground--on Watseka Avenue between Washington and Culver boulevards will help relieve the parking shortage in the area and accommodate future needs, said redevelopment project manager Susan Berg.
The 21,000-square-foot, city-owned lot, behind the Bank of Orange County building, is now vacant. Construction is estimated to cost $3.87 million. It could begin as early as next spring and be completed by early 1991. The council, sitting as the Redevelopment Agency, authorized International Parking Design to draft plans and specifications.
